DIANA BELLAMYAccounts Assistant
Di works for Phoenix Engineering on a part-time basis, having joined the company in June 2012 as an Admin Assistant. She took on the position of Accounts Assistant in September 2016 where she is now responsible for assisting the Financial Director in all aspects of bookkeeping. Di’s experience stems from a variety of roles, latterly from overseeing the admin and accounts of the metal fabrication business she runs with her husband.
HANNAH GOUGHOffice Administrator
Hannah is the Office Administrator and works alongside Sarah who is Hannah’s Line Manager. Hannah assists with all ‘goods in’ and arranging of all the ‘goods out’, she maintains all manual and computer filing systems and assists with all aspects of administrative duties within the office. Hannah previously worked for a local Peugeot Main Dealership where she gained her Client facing and administrative duties.
HOWARD ROBINSONProcess Director
Howard joined Phoenix Engineering in September 2014 becoming the Process Director. Howard previously worked for SKM Enviros as Technical Director for more than 30 years. The whole of his working life has been spent on waste management projects and Howard is considered to be one of a small number of world experts in the field of landfill science and leachate management and treatment. His group at SKM Enviros was responsible for the design and commissioning of more than ninety leachate treatment plants, including some of the largest such plants in the world. Howard has written and presented more than 200 professional papers and reports.
JAMES BUSHMaintenance & Installation Engineer
James has been working for Phoenix Engineering for 5 years; his responsibilities include control panel building, attending site breakdowns and scheduled maintenance programmes nationwide as well as mentoring Jay, our apprentice. James has completed his NVQ3 in Engineering Installation and Maintenance and holds the following cards/certificates; CSCS card, IPAF, Confined Space, SSSTS, PASMA, Abrasive Wheel and Forklift Truck.
JAY KNOTTM&E Engineering Assistant
Jay joined Phoenix in November 2016 as a M & E Engineering Apprentice. He has recently completed his NVQ Level 2 through Bridgwater College and will soon be progressing to Level 3. He is able to apply his practical learning from colleagues on the job to the course material and has recently started to join our engineers on-site around the country. Prior to joining Phoenix Engineering, Jay was in full time education.
KEVIN TREWERNDirector - Control & Automation Design, Panel Build & Commissioning
Kevin is a Control and Automation specialist with over 26 years’ experience. He has been working for Phoenix since 1998 and is one of the founders of the company. During his career, he has covered many aspects of the industry including process instrumentation, PLC programming, microcontroller programming, PC manufacture and setup, control feedback systems, data collection for injection into third-party systems, inverter setup and control interfacing, data communications and design and build of control panels. SARAH SWIFTHead of Administration
Sarah has recently re-joined Phoenix as Head of Administration after 3 years away. Sarah is responsible for all administrative duties in the office, ensuring all purchasing processes are followed. She is also responsible for maintaining, updating and auditing the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems as well as other duties including office fire warden.
ROBIN TREWERNIT Manager
Robin has over 12 years’ experience on all aspects of Phoenix Engineering works, having joined straight from school. He has recently taken on the role of IT manager, ensuring the maintenance and smooth operation of all Phoenix’s IT systems.
TERRY TREWERNDirector of Electrical Design
Terry formed Phoenix Electrical Engineering Services Limited (trading as Phoenix Engineering) in 1993 and was Managing Director up until January 2017. With his expert knowledge of controls and instrumentation he has guided Phoenix over the last 24 years to diversify into many different industry sectors, primarily becoming specialists in the design and build of leachate treatment plants. Terry has designed and supervised the installations of many complex projects for Phoenix and continues to do so as a Director of Electrical Design since stepping down as Managing Director. View CV
ROSS TREWERNDirector, Maintenance & Client Support Manager, Instrumentation Design
Ross has worked for Phoenix since 2003. He currently oversees the selection and installation of instrumentation, manages maintenance visits, breakdown response and liaison with some key clients. Many of the company’s nationwide smaller works for upgrades and additions to existing plant are priced and managed by Ross. Ross is the interface for Phoenix with clients at site and regional level, charged with ensuring that breakdowns and maintenance are organised and undertaken to suit client requirements. View CV
JONTY OLUFSENManaging Director
Jonty has been working for Phoenix Engineering since October 2010 and in January 2017 assumed the role of Managing Director. He is a Civil Engineer and Project Manager with over 13 years’ experience in the Waste Management Sector. Jonty has a Masters degree in Civil Engineering, is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management and a Graduate Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers. As well as his Managing Director duties, Jonty continues to undertake the role of Senior Project/Contract Manager. Jonty is the direct contact for Employer and Consultant liaison. Phoenix Engineering acts as Principal Contractor under the CDM Regulations 2007 for its projects and Jonty is responsible for coordinating health and safety matters for Phoenix Engineering. View CV
TOM BAKERFinance Director
Tom has been working with Phoenix since 2009. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant who works as the Company’s Finance Director on a part time basis. He trained with a big 4 firm and now runs his own accountancy practice, when he is not working for Phoenix.
TIM ROBINSONProcess Scientist and Office and Unit Manager
Tim has been working for Phoenix since 2014 as a Process Scientist, specialising in site investigation, leachate treatability trials and reports, software and IT, on-site treatment plant commissioning and data analysis. He has extensive experience of environmental monitoring, water sampling and water quality testing in the UK and overseas. He graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Environmental Earth Science with a year in industry from The University of East Anglia and completed his placement at international environmental consultancy SKM Enviros. In July 2017, Tim has also taken on additional duties as the Office and Unit Manager at Phoenix House. View CV
JO HATTWorkshop Engineering Technician
Jo joined Phoenix in August 2017 to cover a few areas within the business. Her job title is Workshop Engineering Technician which will allow her to gain knowledge across all the areas within the company and broaden her skill base. She will also be working in the office covering holidays and maternity leave within the admin team. Previously to working at Phoenix, Jo has mainly been working within the administration sector for a variety of local businesses.
Nick HughesAutoCAD Design Engineer
Nick joined Phoenix in October 2018 as an AutoCAD Design Engineer; working closely with the team of engineers to produce design solutions and create AutoCAD drawings for this purpose. Nick completed his formal apprenticeship in the Oil and Gas industry and has since worked extensively in the Water, Pharmaceutical, Nuclear and Marine industries, predominantly as a piping designer. He has many years of experience working on and developing a prototype Energy from Waste plant on the site of the old Bristol incinerator at Avonmouth. View CV
