As we enter 2023, we look back on another busy and progressive year at Phoenix…
Phoenix carried out a significant refurbishment of Deep Moor Landfill in North Devon earlier this year. Work included the installation of a floating pontoon and venturi aerators on the existing lagoon.
New skid-mounted pumping arrangements, electrical distribution upgrades and installation of the Phoenix DLOG SCADA to automate the process were all successfully installed and commissioned. This resulted in a modern and user-friendly operating system with all the backup and maintenance support in place to suit the client’s needs going forwards.
Work on upgrading the existing leachate treatment was carried out at Bennadrove Landfill, on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides.
The project involved extending the existing infrastructure, (originally installed by Phoenix), to incorporate pumping leachate from a new, recently opened cell.
On-site work was completed over the course of a month, with the requisite careful planning and programming of a project at a remote site such as this proving the worth of Phoenix’s experience in this specialised and complex undertaking.
Our study with DEFRA on the presence of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in landfill leachates was completed and a final report was submitted for review. A most interesting project which we are pleased to have been involved with.
Our maintenance packages proved ever popular with clients in 2022, with our team of engineers attending the site for periodic planned preventative maintenance as well as call-outs, demonstrating the value of this element of Phoenix’s offer to the client in keeping within required parameters of discharge and dosing as well as minimising exposure to more costly emergency breakdown visits.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our clients and suppliers during the past year. We look forward to working with you all in 2023.
