Tonight at 9pm on BBC4, a new show examining the legacy of landfill sites across the UK is being aired. The show looks at the history of dumping waste in landfill over the last 50 years and hopes to shed light on the waste we throw away, in light of greater public awareness of the issue.

Phoenix were very involved in a part of the programme in which wastes were exhumed and examined from a 1980s landfill in the Midlands, where a reed bed leachate treatment system designed and constructed by Phoenix was also described by our Process Director, Howard Robinson.
