Phoenix Engineering has switched to renewable electricity with Haven Power, saving the carbon equivalent of a 42 inch LCD TV running continuously for 250 days.
Jonty Olufsen, Managing Director of Phoenix Engineering, said “Working in the Waste and Environmental Sector we must demonstrate a responsible approach to energy consumption and sustainability. By partnering with Haven Power as our electricity supplier we are able to substantially reduce our carbon footprint. Showing our dedication to environment and proactive approach to improving targets under our ISO 14001 accreditation.”
Phoenix Engineering started its sustainability drive when they built their new offices in Launceston, Cornwall, where they installed energy efficient heating and heat pumps. They then followed this by selecting renewable electricity from Haven Power.
Paul Sheffield, Chief Operating Officer at Haven Power, said “Phoenix Engineering’s approach to sustainability clearly demonstrates that carbon saving initiatives aren’t out of reach for businesses – it is a shining example of what can be achieved. The use of renewable energy by UK businesses is increasing as companies become more ambitious in terms of reducing their carbon footprint, but also because of the potential benefits of using renewables and embracing energy-efficiency programmes, such as attracting new customers, employees and gaining ISO accreditations.”
Haven Power operates as an energy partner for customers. It offers renewable energy as standard and works with them to make informed decisions that have real impact for their business, while reducing their impact on the environment. This helps these businesses achieve a better use of energy,
